Kleine-Levine syndrome or Sleeping Beauty Disease or known also as narcolepsy in other term was an idiopathic disorder. The cause was not clear; it is thought it may be related to malfunction of the hypothalamus, the part of the brain that governs appetite and sleep.
It is more common in males than females and usually disappears in adulthood, and between sleep periods the sufferer recovers completely.
There is no definitive treatment for Kleine-Levin Syndrome, although some patients are given stimulant drugs to try and keep them awake.
Louisa herself first developed the disorder since October 2008 after her recovering from a bout of flu. She took flu medication for a week. But the relation with the case is not discovered. She is now on medication. Hope it can help and bring her on to her normal life.
