I want my little one will be book lovers. Because reading books make us one step more and having much knowledge. For example by reading a story we will imagine the plot by our self. First books I gave to my children was “ Let Learn ABC’s”. That’s a bilingual book, Indonesian and English. I bought him when he was 5 months. I knew he hasn’t recognizes letters at all but I like read him everyday. And amazing, he looked enjoy. Maybe because of the colors. He also has an eyes for my lips . Then I bought “Daily Praying Book”. Both were tiny book so my little one’s can handle it easily.
When he was 6 months I gave him “Toby” series which is written by Cyndy Szekeres. At first I only bought one, themed “Toby’s Rainbow Clothes”. This book is bigger and more colorful. Toby is a funny mouse. He has friends named Bob “a bird”, Fred “ a snail” and Cynthia “ a frog”. They are close friends. In this book children can learn about relationship and colors. Same with other books he has, my son looked interest only about the colors. I still always read for him. And by the time my son learns by himself. Now he can open pages of books, he knows the character “Toby Mouse” and looked enjoy watching the pictures. Every time I asked him “Where is Toby?”, he will take the book in the desk. Really great for me follow his growth and development time by time.
